Andover (L6)

The Andover meteorite was seen to fall on August 5, 1898 by Lincoln Dresser of Andover, Maine. The stone fell within 25 ft of him, while crashing through a tree and impacting a granite wall. He witnessed the fireball, describing it as a "buzz saw, and had a following of smoke" (Ward, 1903).
Deaccessioned from the Mile High Meteorites Collection.
